This link shows an article on how Michael Gove the UK
education minister is considering keeping student who don’t pass in math or English
GCSE in school until they do. I find this article very interesting because the writer
seems to be quite seems quite bias and is presenting facts that show how it’s a
good idea to keep all student who don’t pass their GCSEs in school until they
finish school instead of writing about the negative effects of children staying
in school for longer than they should.
I disagree with the
article because there are student who are into music and art and this policy
will only hold them back from achieving their full potential. Some of the
greatest musicians, artist and sportsmen are successful without having these
qualifications. In my opinion the policy Michael Gove is trying to establish will
only benefit academic student.
I find this article a lot less bias. It’s much longer
because is presents both sides of the argument. It presents the negatives and
the positives the Michael Gove’s policies. I found this quote in the article interesting "For those who fail to get a
C at GCSE, it's a huge impairment to their future life, their ability to
participate not just in work but also as a citizen," it almost indicates
that all people who haven’t got the qualifications Gove is pushing for aren’t capable
of being citizens.
